About
Hi I'm Chuck Burns. I started this website www.Welding-Mig-Tig-Welders.com because I enjoy welding and I also appreciate getting a good deal when I buy. Here you will find a good selection of Lincoln and Miller welders and you can often get them at a very good price. I hope you enjoy browsing our inventory and that you will find a good deal on a Lincoln or Miller welder of your choice.
I first learned to weld when I was 16 years old using oxy-acetylene, that was in 1961. I progressed from that and taught myself arc welding using an old portable welder generator that was run by a flat head Chrysler industrial engine.
Many years later, in 2002, I became interested in the TIG process. During the EAA that year I purchased a Miller Econo-tig 180 and a Millermatic wire feed welder. The Econo-tig turned out not to be suited for what I wanted to weld. I was learning to weld 4130 .028 to .035 thin wall tube. The Econotig had a low current range to 30 amps. That was the borderline low end current I was using to weld the .028 and .035 wall tubing.
During a welding demonstration at the Lincoln booth, again at the EAA, I watched a Lincoln Rep. weld aluminum foil using the Lincoln Squarewave 175. He claimed that anyone could do it. After that Demon I sold the Miller Econotig for more than I paid for it and purchased a Lincoln Square wave 175 TIG unit. It had a low range down to about 8 amps which put my desired welding current above the welders low end current output. I regularly weld using 30 to 65 amps. The Lincoln Square wave 175 TIG is an exceptional little welder and is a joy to use. I have since added a pulser unit. I am still learning about it but what I have learned so far is that the pulser helps make welding thin material easier.
